Palms Casino Resort Honors Michael Jackson

Since the passing of Michael Jackson, the world has been at a loss for the musical icon and king of pop, but many believe his accomplishments will continue to touch the lives of people for many more years to come. Palms Casino Resort will now and forever remember Michael Jackson as a true legend of the music industry by adding a star in his honor to the Palms Casino Resorts Walk of Fame. Not only was this a memorable day for the Jackson family, as well as the Palms Casino, it was especially important because it was also what would have been Michael Jackson's 51st birthday.

It was Jackson's own father who was presented with the Brenden Celebrity Star honoring Michael Jackson. “I wish he was here to see this take place,” said Joe Jackson. Michael was aware of the ceremony and had actually been planning the unveiling of the star for the past two years.

Emcee Robin Leach stated, “The plan was that Michael would accept the star after the run of London shows.” Jackson's passing came just days before he was set to do his first show on his new tour. Jackson seemed in good health and had been rehearsing just shortly before he collapsed. The news of his health hit the media and spread like a wild fire. People all over the world sat and waited in the hopes that the star would recover from illness, but much to our dismay, he passed away shortly after the incident.

Whether you grew up listening to Michael Jackson or simply are a fan of his music, his memory will live on forever. Palms Casino Resorts has honored Michael and his family in a way that to many is indescribable. The fact that Jackson knew he was being acknowledged for his career, makes this star shine in the lives of millions of people.
