Casino News - November 2nd, 2009 - Written by Glen
Though pure coincidence, New Hampshire will be discussing the possibility of gambling expansion on the same day that Ohio casts their vote for their own. Most of the states in the Union have already taken steps toward expanded casino gambling, and New Hampshire may be the next to ratify such a decision.
The Gaming Study Commission, founded by Governor John Lynch, will meet November 3rd to discuss the Gaming Revenue potential and more. They will attempt to remain unbiased and opinionated in order to provide residents with a fair and just decision. Charitable gaming and tourism are at the top of their agenda, and will remain under debate until the meeting adjourns.
While the November 3rd meeting is meant for the potential revenue, a future meeting, tentatively set for November 17th, will discuss the social impacts and cost of gaming. A report will then be issued to the Governor by December 15th. The issue will not culminate until May of 2010, giving plenty of time for opinion to be voiced.
New Hampshire's possible casinos could revitalize state wide revenues, though the issue is far from over. Neighboring states have been passing the idea around as well, with Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Delaware each adding or contemplating the addition of some form of gambling or another. As always, all of these states will face competition from New Jersey, though Atlantic City has been losing the battle thus far. Until this is resolved players can always turn to New Hampshire Online Casinos to play their favorite casino games.
