Casino News - November 6th, 2009 - Written by Glen
The State of Rhode Island has recently allowed a slot machine based casino in Lincoln to operate twenty-four hours a day. Due to struggling revenues, the Twin River slot parlar will see expanded hours of operation, aiming to increase their influx of cash.
While the slot parlor has been authorized to operate throughout all hours of the day, the date on which the change will commence has yet to be announced. Twin River management was apprised of the authorization last week, and has been contemplating the change.
Twin River had filed for bankruptcy protection back in June, as the casino had been struggling to make debt deadlines. Over $500 million dollars worth of debt is attached to the Twin River, Rhode Island's third largest source of state revenue.
Gambling expansion has, in one form or another, been a topic of heavy debate in many states around the nation. Pennsylvania, Ohio, and even Florida have been changing legislation to expand or grow their gambling venues, and this change in Rhode Island is hardly different. The best Rhode Island online casinos have been detracting from live casinos, though the convenience embodied in such online gaming centers has clearly proven their advantages.
