American Idol Betting Countdown

Even the most culture deprived among us know that this week sees the finale of American Idol. This reality song competition still manages to attract literally millions of viewers each week, despite the fact that it is already into its eighth season. 

Betting is at an all time high at gaming sites across the internet as punters try to determine who will take home the title of American Idol this year. Last week saw a major upset in the gambling world when the singer expected to reach the top two places, Milwaukee Sunday School teacher, Danny Gokey was pushed out of the competition by his rival, Kris Allen.  

American Idol judges continuously predicted throughout the show that Gokey would meet boy wonder Adam Lambert in the finals, and seemed to be just as upset as the rest of America when this didn’t turn out to be the case. Nevertheless, Allen is a superb singer who has managed to capture the votes of millions of Americans with his crooning voice, good looks and down to earth attitude. 

However, if the odds at the betting sites are anything to go by, Adam Lambert will win the title by a long shot and nobody denies that he deserves it.  Lambert has consistently belted out songs in his own original and often theatrical way, week after week, and it is believed that he will remain the all time favorite until the very end. Even so, as with anything in show business and the betting world, nothing is written in stone and there may be some upsets along the way.
