Kansas has many companies to choose from now they are legalizing casino gambling and their options are not easy. Waiting too long could hurt the revenue potential of the casinos that will spring up by allowing the excitement the idea entailed to ebb into a trickle, rather than the eruption of entertainment possibilities citizens are surely feeling at this point in time.
Sumner County was the site in which South Central Gaming Partners raised the bet by telling commissioners that they had intentions on adding a hotel to the primary phase of their construction ideas. South Central had its hand forced, in a sense, to add the hotel because of the other bidders in the running.
Two approvals were made since last Thursday in Wyandotte County. Penn National Gaming and a coalition involving the Kansas Speedway have both been given approval by gaming commissioners. They will now lie in wait for the endorsement from Kansas City.
Local endorsement is one of the prerequisites for placing a casino bid. Many developers around the state are beginning to collect their endorsements and put forth the necessary steps to start breaking ground.
