Preakness Betting Odds Set

This Saturday marks the beginning of the second leg of the Triple Crown, The Preakness. This very prestigious race has all the top names in Horse Racing, gunning for the title. This years' morning line favorite is Rachel Alexandra which is currently at 5/4 odds according to Online Sportsbooks and Las Vegas Oddsmakers.

Of course, you have to look to the winner of the Kentucky Derby, Mine That Bird, at 5/1. The champion thoroughbred is looking to win stage two of the Triple Crown, only this time it is without it's Derby winning jockey which will be on Rachel Alexandra. Other favorites include Pioneerof The Nile at 4/1. What seemed to be a strong Derby contender, fell off late, as Mine That Bird flew through the pack on the way to the crown.

Normally, coming into the Preakness, the horse that won the Kentucky Derby is favored, however this is not the case. Mine That Bird is somewhat of a long shot, if you look at the odds compared to the favorite, Rachel Alexandra.

The field is at Pimlico, getting ready for the showdown on Saturday. It should be a great race, and maybe Mine That Bird will be able to win the second leg, setting up to win the Triple Crown.
