PRWeb To No Longer Accept Gambling Press Releases

May 4, 2009 - Wrote By Jimmy

One of the leading, online, press release services, PRWeb, has just recently announced that it will no longer be publishing any gambling related press releases. This extends to live gambling, as well as to the online gambling industry. PRWeb has made it clear that all press releases, with links to gambling related websites, will not be allowed. This restriction includes both U.S. and non-U.S. online gambling sites.

This news comes as a shock to many users of the service, as they have relied upon the service of PRWeb, which previously did not discriminate, on the news. PRWeb is the largest, most read, online press release resource, which millions of Internet users have relied upon for the most current, breaking, gambling information. It was previously thought that PRWeb was committed to bringing users all current news, however it has proven that they are, in fact, selective, and show favoritism.

PRWeb claims that is jumping on board with Yahoo! and Google, by following their practices, against gambling websites, which also includes affiliate websites, however, both of those major search engines do not have any such regulations against online gambling. It is speculated that PRWeb is under pressure from Washington state government, which is where their company resides. Washington has very strict online gambling laws, which has led them to step in and tell PRWeb, who they can, and can't release news from.

The news service charges quite a bit for a release on their news portal. Press releases range up in to the hundreds of dollars, with the best ones being $300+. Other press release companies, such as Free-Press-Release.com, should experience a surge in traffic, now that PRWeb has backed out of reporting the news.
