Earlier in May one of the licensees of Rival Gaming offered a “no deposit” promotion in which they allowed wagering on Rival Gaming’s progressive online slot game One Million BC. The terms of the promotion stated that any participant who hit the jackpot on this slot during the promotion would be entitled to withdraw only a fraction of the progressive jackpot amount. As it happened the jackpot was hit and the participant got what he was promised. This raised a question in the mind of Rival Gaming’s clientele. What happened to the balance amount of the progressive jackpot? Rival Gaming has now clarified that the balance amount of the progressive jackpot was added back to the jackpot. The jackpot amount was therefore suitably increased and at the time of Rival Gaming’s statement stood at $230,000. The funds did not go to the concerned online casino.
Rival Gaming’s statement, which was issued from Nicosia, Cyprus, also stated that the above problem arose because the progressive jackpot was used in a limited cash out promotion. In the normal course when a Rival Gaming progressive jackpot is hit the entire amount is deposited in the account of the winning customer. There is nothing to stop the customer from withdrawing the entire amount or keeping it in his account and wagering with it. However, Rival Gaming cautioned that each Rival Gaming licensee had complete ownership and control of their brands. Rival Gaming does not have any interest in the brands and does not regulate the activities of the brands. Rival Gaming also thanked its customers for bearing with it while it cleared the confusion.
