David Letterman has found himself in the spotlight with his involvement in a scandal in which he has publicly announced that his involvement with employees was in fact a situation that took place on more than one occasion. Recently, an intern of the Letterman Show came forward to reveal that she had indeed had a romantic relationship with David Letterman during the course of her employment with the network.
The scandal became public with an admission of guilt and an apology from David Letterman himself. This apology comes only days after someone tried to extort $2 million from Letterman in order to prevent the affairs from becoming public knowledge. Knowing that this matter could in no way be silenced, Letterman took the only high road he knew to take and made a public statement during one of the broadcasts of his show. Letterman publicly admitted his wrong doings and asked that he be forgiven by fans and all those that were involved and or affected by this matter.
What is probably the most surprising information revealed pertaining to this story were the parties involved. The person responsible for trying to allegedly extort the money from Letterman was none other than CBS's producer of 48 Hours, Robert Halderman. When Letterman was contacted by Halderman, he quickly notified authorities, where they instantly set up a sting operation in an attempt to bring Halderman on with extortion charges. Letterman met with Halderman as part of the operation, and upon the transfer of a phony check Letterman delivered to Halderman, Halderman was taken into custody.
Although Letterman may of been morally wrong when it came to the inter office affairs, he came clean and refused to give in to the bullying of someone trying to take advantage of a situation that could be hurtful to all involved. The public is most likely to forgive Letterman, as everyone is sure to make mistakes at some point, but will his family be as forgiving as his fans? Letterman has been married for several years now and has a young son with his wife.
Speculation is flying high as to what will be the end result to this unfortunate situation. Will Letterman's wife find it in her heart to forgive, or will she file for divorce? BetUS Sportsbook wants to know what you think about the situation. Make your opinion count by placing a wager on whether or not Letterman's wife file for divorce before May?
