NFL News - September 25th, 2009 - Written by John
The New York Jets made it a point to make sure everyone was watching when they beat the Patriots at home for the first time since 2000.
Now they are making sure everyone remembers. And they won't stop until everyone does.
In another chapter of the New York-Boston squabble, which has incidently made the rivalry as delicious their baseball counterpart's, Jets' linebacker Bart Scott laid the hammer down on Randy Moss after comments were made about Darrelle Revis. Moss was blanketed by the New York secondary and only amassed 24 yards on four catches. Revis beat Moss to the ball on one play and picked it off to stunt a possible Patriots scoring drive. Moss has since downplayed Revis' effectiveness, saying it is easy when there is safety help up top.
Reporters could've just kept the tape rolling. There was no way the Jets, who called the win their Super Bowl, were going to let that slide.
"I hear the easy cop-out by Moss [is] that anyone can play cornerback," said Scott. "Sometimes, you got to give the man his credit, that [Revis] was the better man that day. It doesn't take away from the fact that Moss is a great receiver in this league but [Revis] shut him down. Randy was coming across the middle real slow. Tell him to man up and come across the middle like a man if he wants to be a complete receiver in this league."
Keep your tape recorders on. The two teams still have two months of free graze until they meet again in New England.
