Bodog poker pro Justin Bonomo won this week's Super Tuesday poker tournament for a massive $75,855 payday. The Super Tuesday tournament is held weekly at the online poker site Pokerstars and has a healthy buy in of $1,050. The tournament is known for being one of the toughest weekly poker tournaments around. With such a large buy in the Super Tuesday attracts the top online players in the world making for a incredibly strong field. This week's tournament had 389 entrants all vying for the top prize. At the young age of 23 years old Bonomo has already made a name for himself as one of the premiere poker players in the world.
Bonomo plays under the name of ZeeJustin on Pokerstars. He entered the final table as the chip leader with 344,256 chips. This was almost 100,000 chips more than the second largest chip stack. Bonomo was patient as the final table got under way before eliminated a short stack in 8th place when his K5 eliminated his opponents J8. The key hand at the final table saw Justin Bonomo call a raise out of the big blind with J9 of diamonds. The flop came 8 10 5 with two diamonds which led to him and his opponent getting all of their chips into the pot. His opponent showed KK for an overpair but Bonomo had a monster drawing hand with an open ended straight draw and a flush draw. The turn was no help for Bonomo but the Q on the river completed his straight which eliminated the other player in 5th place. This was a huge pot which gave Bonomo a monster chip lead heading into heads up play.
The heads up play began with Bonomo having a 3 to 1 chip advantage against his opponent Mumtum23. The action did not last for long as the two players got all their chips in after just a few hands. With the blinds at 5,000/10,000 Bonomo made a raise to 20,000 preflop. Mumtum23 then re raised all in for almost 170,000 which Bonomo promptly called. Mumtum23 showed K4 while Bonomo flipped over K7 of hearts for the best hand. The flop came J 9 4 with two hearts. His opponent had out flopped him but Bonomo had plenty of outs with his flush draw. He would not have to wait long as the turn was the 10 of hearts sealing the victory for Bonomo. A big congratulations goes out to Justin Bonomo for winning the always difficult Pokerstars Super Tuesday poker tournament.
