"Sui," could be heard from spectators throughout the Amazon Room on Wednesday as the final stages of event 33, the World Championship Limit Hold Em came to an end. After 3 exhausting days of play, including 12 long hours just for the final day, Greg Mueller is named champion of event 33 of WSOP. Mueller beat out a total of 184 other players, among them some of the best poker players around such as Philis Ivey, Hellmuth, Brunsons Todd and Doyle, not to mention Jennifer Harman , who actually wrote a book on this particular game.
It is always nice to see poker players bring along supporters and Mueller had an entire room full of them chantting out his own war cry , "Sui". The hype from the crowd certainly could of had something to do with his enthusiastic drive to make it to the final table. The final table had its up and downs for everyone and chip lead was not held by just one player, but with a roller coaster of events at the final table, everyone had their chance at one point to be in the front funner position.
Some players chances came and gone, leaving the final match up for Mueller and Pezzin to battle out. Although Pezzin put up quite a fight at some points, it was Mueller who was the last man standing. For his efforts, Mueller will walk away with a cash prize of $460,836, the tile as champion and a WSOP gold bracelet.
