After three long days of play, Jordan Smith is crowned champion of event 36, the No Limit Hold Em'. Smith was up against 1694 other opponents which included some of the best poker players around such as Kathy Liebert, Joe Sebok, Andy Black, David Rheem and Smith's very own head to head match up Ken Lennard. Day three of this tournament started out with only 17 players remaining but that would soon change as the final table drew closer.
Among those 17 players was Corwin Cole, who was once sitting as chip leader earlier in the tournament. Cole's hand was no challenge to Andrew Seden's pocket aces and Cole finished the tournament in 16th position, earning him a cash prize of $21,008. Not to far behind Cole was professional poker player Warren Woodall who was sent packing in 10th place and leaving the remaining 9 players to battle it out at the final table.
Hours in to day three of the tournament, the final match up was set and Jordan Smith was set to go head to head with Ken Lennard. From the very start of the final match up, Smith made sure that Lennard knew he was in for the road and was not giving up without a fight. Smith wasted no time in taking the lead and moving one step closer to capturing his first WSOP gold bracelet. After a call to Lennard's preflop raise, Smith goes all in forcing Lennard to call. The river card went in favor of Smith, earning him his first WSOP gold bracelet, and a cash prize of $586,212. Lennard leaves this competition in second, which earned him a cool $360,439.
