Lisa Hamilton may be fresh on the scene when it comes to live tournaments, but she doesn't let the spectators inter fear with her determination she has to take home her first WSOP bracelet. Out of 1060 players, Hamilton made her way to the final table in less than four hours. Although her final table appearance was brief, she displayed some amazing poker skills as she took down her opponents one by one going head to head with 2nd place winner, Lori Bender whom upon completion of the tournament, walked away with $120,575. With this tournament being in play for only a short time of less than four hours, Hamilton was awarded her first bracelet, a cash prize of $195,390 and the title of 2009 WSOP Ladies World Champion of event 17.

After 3 days of intense card playing, Daniel Alaei is named winner of event 18 of the 2009 WSOP World Championship Omaha HL / 8 or Better. Alaei beat out a total of 178 other opponents, which was no easy task. As the days grew longer, every  shot at the pot seemed more challenging. Alaei managed to stay somewhere in the middle of the 17 players that were remaining that continued into the night. Upon reaching the final table, he moved into chip leader position and held his spot right up to the final moments of going head to head with 2nd place winner Scott, Clements. Both very skilled poker players , but Clements was no match for the determination Alaei had to take home a 2009 WSOP bracelet and he did just that. Along with the bracelet, Alaei takes home a cash prize of $445,898 and the title winner of the World Championship Omaha HL / 8 or Better tournament.
