Gambling News - June 25, 2009 - Written By Bonnie

Jeff Lisardo is no stranger to WSOP and certainly a name we have heard a lot throughout this years WSOP events. Having already 2 of this years events, he can now add Seven Card Razz Champion to his list of accomplishments this year, along with his 3rd 2009 WSOP gold bracelet. Lisardo has stunned the poker community with his display of poker skills this year and has definitely made a spot for himself in poker history by winning three events in one single series. Not only will he be remembered for his wins in 2009 but the fact that he has won Stud High, Stud 8 or Better, and now Seven Card Razz, has made him the winner of each discipline of stud poker and a historical figure in poker history.

The final table seemed to be no challenge for Lisardo as he ran over players one by one. Lisardo started the final table with a 2-1 chip leader over the next closest opponent. His cool demeanor and ability to maintain control took him right to the final match up with poker player Michael Craig. Craig may have 5 cash wins and 3 WSOP final table appearances, but that does not put him in the same professional category as one like Jeff Lisardo. In fact, Craig professional career is that of a writer. He is a blogger for the well known poker site Full Tilt as well as an author of " The Professor, The Banker and The Suicide King". Being friends with two of the greatest player of Razz , Ted Forrest and Huck Seed, may of very well contributed to Craig's improvement in this game. Unfortunately it was not enough to take down Lisardo, who is now a Stud Poker legend.

Jeff Lisardo is well deserving of his new title of Seven Card Razz Champion. His efforts here earned him his 3rd WSOP gold bracelet this year and a nice payday of $188,370. We can only imagine what Lisardo will have to add to his career wins as the 2009 WSOP continues.
