Gaspard Takes Home Win at WSOP Circuit Event, New Orleans

The final day of the WSOP Curcuit in New Orleans wrapped up Wednesday evening crowning Jean "Prince" Gaspard , a 37 year old professional poker player from Chicago, the winner. Gaspard dominated the lead throughout the final table tournament, holding a large amount of chips the majority of the game. This marks Gaspard's fifth main tournament win, and the largest cash prize collected yet. His career winnings now total more than $1 million, this event awarding him a cash prize of $211,722. This win landed him a seat in the WSOP Main Event which takes place in July and he was also awarded a gold ring, the highest recognition for winning a WSOP Circuit event.

Billy Kopp, who was the chip leader at the end of day two, took home the second place position which earned him a cash prize of $127,832. Kopp was able to keep Gaspard within arms reach right up until the final hours. As Kopp displayed some great strategies and amazing card skills, Gaspard still managed to maintain his distance to walk away with the win.
