Poker News - November 29th, 2009 - Written by Glen
Isildur1 has become one of the most talked about names in poker. Whether it was his involvement in the largest pot in online poker history, his crushing and sweeping some of the biggest names in the industry, or even his enigmatic persona, players have been drawn to Isildur1 as he continues to quash his opponents on the field.
The mysteriously player, whom is referred to by his Tolkien-esque nickname or simply as "the Swede," has recently recovered from a $5 million dollar downswing. Isildur managed to not only recoup his losses from the downswing, but also ended up recovering over $2 million dollars worth of losses.
Patrik Antonious had been one of the top contenders for Isildur1, sending the Swede to the rail on more than one occasion. After a steep downswing at the hands of Antonious, Isildur1 had on many occasions requested they move to No Limit Texas Hold 'em rather than Pot Limit Omaha. Irony would strike when Isildur took Antonious for a spin playing Omaha, where Isildur would liberate some of the money from Patrik's account.
Isildur1 had been butting heads with Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonious, and Tom Dwan. It has been speculated that Dwan took the biggest blow to not only wallet and ego, as he had issued a personal challenge against Isildur to participate in the "durrrr" challenge. While Dwan had hoped Isildur would turn up at the live "durrrr" challenge in London, he seems to have been stood up.
Only time will tell what the rising poker figure will do next, with many fans observing quietly how he plays, primarily through USA Online Poker sites such as Full Tilt Poker.
