Poker News - November 12th, 2009 - Written by Glen
The Aussie Millions, less commonly referred to as the Australian Poker Championship, is right around the corner, with less than two months until the events kick off. Since 1998 this Championship has been attracting some of the best, as well as some of the worst, players from around the globe, and now one of the online poker rooms has already launched satellite tournaments with prize packages leading to the Aussie Millions Championship.
These satellite tournaments, supplied by BetUS Sportsbook, are aiming to send players with a full blown prize package to cover the entire affair. Not only will winners take the $10,500 AUD main event seat, but also travel and expenses paid for. Ten nights accommodation at the Crown Promenade, $1,500 dollars cash for expenses, as well as entry into a welcoming party, a farewell party, and even a $50,000 dollar free roll are up for grabs.
The event is scheduled for January 24th, to end on the 31st, in 2010. Satellite qualifiers are running for as low as $3 dollars, with sit and go qualifiers running around the clock. Quarter- and Semi-finals are also available, with the average buy-in running as low as $10.50 for the Sit and Go tournaments, $13 dollars for the open satellites, and $61 and $321 dollars for the finals. This Sunday will hold the finals, at both 4PM and 8PM.
The Main Event in Melbourne, Australia, will host a guaranteed top prize of $2 million dollars for the first place winner, to be adjusted with excess entrants. Some of the biggest names in poker will be coming from all over the world to participate in this event, allowing common players a chance to rub elbows with legendary poker players. Time is running out on the satellite events through BetUS, but the USA Online Poker Rooms are bound to continue offering access to this prestigious tournament throughout the upcoming months. Though they will be handing out seats, not many will equal the $13,000 dollar prize packages that are exclusively offered through BetUS sportsbook.
