Poker News - October 17th, 2009 - Written by Glen
For a revolutionary change of pace, Full Tilt Poker has added the "Run It Twice" feature, which has almost exclusively been seen on B-rated televised poker shows. The premise may sound mildly confusing at first, but regardless of what happens, players will see an exciting new look at the turn and river in certain select cash games.
The Run It Twice again only works in a very particular situation. First, the players must be seated at certain cash tables for the option to be available. Then, two players who are all-in heads up will have to have Run It Twice activated. Should all requirements be met, players will see two turns, and two rivers. This will, if nothing more, two players with equally strong hands - or even one with a weak hand - another opportunity to win. Conversely, he or she who would have already been the winner may crush the pride and spirits of their opponent twice, rather than once.
Just as an example of the Run It Twice program, let us say a player Prima is holding a A-Q suited, and Prima decides to shove his stack. Secunda, feeling particularly gutsy, calls with an 8-3 Off suit. Both players check the Run It Twice box, and the flop is drawn. An 8-3-Q hits the board, causing Prima to roll his eyes in disgust. The first turn shows no help for Prima, nor does the first river - Secunda would have won this pot with a bad call. Since the second run was still going to hit, the A-Q could still shine true. Lo and behold, the A-Q turns into a set of ladies on the second draw, giving Prima their rightfully deserved pot.
The Run It Twice feature will only be available in select games. No Limit Hold 'Em, Omaha Hi, and HA mixed tables. More tables will be added in the future, but for now Ivey's Table is the table that is showcasing the Run It Twice algorithm. It is worth mentioning that the rake may be increased slightly from the addition of the extra cards, as another hand is essentially being drawn.
As always, Full Tilt is offering their 100% match to $600 dollar bonus to all new players. Full Tilt rolls out a new game, promotion, or benefit every week, allowing for one of the most unique Online Poker experiences in the world. Now you can not only play with the pros, but also Run It Twice - only at Full Tilt Poker.
