Ricky Barnes Coming Apart

Gambling News - June 22, 2009 - Written by Jimmy

The Final Round of the 2009 U.S. Open gets back underway from Bethpage Black, Monday morning. When the final round resumes this morning, Ricky Barnes and Lucas Glover were tied, however since then, that has changed. Barnes bogeyed the First, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth holes, and has dropped back to -3 under par.

Barnes appears to have lost his confidence. The final day of the U.S. Open tends to do that to people. For example, Phil Mickelson at Wing Foot. Entering the 72nd hole, Mickelson rips the driver right into courtesy tent. Mickelson would not win the U.S. Open, as it stands now, Ricky Barnes will not either.

Lucas Glover, isn't exactly on fire either. He finished his 3rd round with a 74, and is even today. Glover is only leading because he hasn't played as bad as Barnes. Glover bogeyed 3, 5, and 9, and is the tournament leader. Glover may be affected from the pressure as well. It can get to the best golfers.

As the leaders drop back, other golfers are sure to get in the mix. Among them will be Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan, and others. Tiger and Phil are both in the hunt, and would both love to have another major.

Basically, the 2009 U.S. Open won't be over until it's over. Basic, but true. Many of major championships have been lost on the last hole. Be sure to catch the rest of the action today, as coverage begins on NBC at 11:30am EDT.
