Sunday marked a day of two game 7s, in the 2009 NBA Playoffs. In the first match, the Los Angeles Lakers dispatched the Houston Rockets to the tune of 89 to 70, clearing the way for the Lakers to meet the Nuggets, in the Western Conference Finals. The other game featured the Orlando Magic going into Boston, to take on the defending champs. Orlando put Boston away, which now allows them to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, and LeBron James, in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The conference finals is where the NBA drama really picks up. Teams are now playing for the right, to represent their conference, for the NBA championship. All four teams left, are very hungry and want it bad, however, only two will advance. The opening lines show that Orlando and Denver are the underdogs, entering these series. Both teams are very capable, and would not have made it this far, had they not been good teams. Currently, the Las Vegas Oddsmakers and the USA Sports betting industry has bets on the Eastern and Western Conference series matchups. In the east, they have Cleveland at -660 compared to Orlando's +535, to win the series. In the west, L.A. is at -290 compared to Denver's +240.
The Western Confrence Finals tip off on Tuesday night, and the Eastern Conference goes on Wednesday. These should be two fantastic matchups, and the online sportsbooks are sure to be taking bets, right up until game time. Don't miss LeBron and the Cavaliers go against Howard and the Magic nor Kobe's L.A. Lakers going against Carmello's Nuggets. The drama starts on Tuesday, don't miss it.
