Casino News - February 10th, 2010 - Written By Glen
Alabama's residents will have to watch another brilliant decision made by Governor Riley after bringing the casino gaming industry within his state to a halt. The state will now pick up the tag, giving the hundreds of laid off employees an opportunity to collect unemployment and other such benefits.
The story so far - Riley and his anti-gambling task force gear up to raid and shut down several casinos. Amongst these gaming centers were VictoryLand, Country Crossing, and White Hall Entertainment Center. Each of these casinos had shut down because of the raids, either voluntarily to prevent the raid or by order of the task force.
Court hearings had been had to determine the legitimacy of the raid, legislators had attempted to change the legislation, and new task force leaders had been found. In short, this battle has been more dramatic than some episodes of the Maury Show.
"We will do everything possible to help these Alabamians receive the assistance they need. When employees are laid off, the Rapid Response Team provides help with unemployment assistance, health insurance needs, job training, and locating new job opportunities," began Riley. "Although these casino operations are illegal, we will offer any and all assistance possible to any Alabamian who is without a job."
Riley's anti-gambling regime is one of the few in the United States that is actually trying to cause a regression on gambling laws. While most states have been adding new gambling venues, Riley is adamant on his assault. Thankfully, there is nothing the task force can do about Alabama Online Casinos.
