Casino Crime Reaches A New Height With Alleged Bomb Threat

Casino News - February 23rd, 2010 - Written By Glen

Prairie Meadows Racetrack and CasinoMany opponents to casino gambling regularly hark upon the increase in crime rates in the area. While these crimes are usually associated with robberies, the occasional fight, or the periodic drunken escapade, but over the weekend, the level of violence ramped up into levels previously unseen in the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino.

Benjamin T. Feick, 23, was apprehended by law enforcement Sunday. His charge? Allegedly calling in a bomb threat to the casino. Whether or not his threat carried weight is now immaterial, as even making a bomb threat is, in most states, a felony.

The issue arose when Feick was asked to provide a photo ID in order to gain entrance to the casino. He had, reportedly, only carried a Social Security card and similar forms of ID, each of which lacked a photograph. Feick, when disallowed to enter, allegedly stated that he would "come back and blow this place up."

Feick offered an apology, but police had charged him instead. Feick is currently being held on a $5,000 dollar bond.

This is yet another reason many players have decided to turn to Iowa Online Casinos. Though it is unlikely that Feick, or indeed any one, would blow up a casino over a case of mistaken identification. As online gambling continues to grow, these casinos may out grow land based enterprises entirely - especially due to the misdeeds of the less scrupulous players.
