Though Delaware Online Casinos are a wonderful thing for the player, there is one thing they cannot do when compared to land based casinos, and that is to create jobs.
Roughly 750 jobs are expected to be created between Delaware Park, Dover Downs, and Harrington Raceway & Casino. Table games were legalized due in part the jobs that would be created, and this estimate is a healthy indication that these table games are going to be a worthwhile endeavor.
Not only are dealers set to be hired, but so are cocktail servers. Estimates show that the pay scale will be between $35,000 and $40,000, as well as tips. Factoring in tips, and these jobs could pay significantly higher.
Dover Downs had hosted a preliminary on Monday, where in 150 people had showed up to seek work. Harrington Raceway & Casino, according to some reports, had seen 500 applicants at a job fair last week. These fairs will continue to be held.
According to Dover Downs general manager Pete Bradley, those who seek employment as dealers will be required to receive training courses and pass background checks.
Delaware has not only recently expanded their gambling choices into sports betting, but they have now added table games. While competition will be found in Pennsylvania, most players are convinced that their NFL betting, when it resumes in the fall, will give Delaware a strong advantage.
