Credit Card Casino Deposits Become More Difficult

Casino News - February 4th, 2010 - Written By Glen

credit card logosOnline casino deposit methods have been facing tough times for various reasons. Whether it is an invitation only e-wallet or a banking method that has been blocked due to legislation or the bank's personal preference, deposit methods have been encountering difficulties.

Credit cards are one of the most recent deposit methods to take a hit. Certain banks, particularly Capital One, have been adamant against online casino deposits. Capital One VISA has been declined through a variety of Online Casinos, but a new credit card has been blocking these transactions.

MasterCard, one of the leading two credit cards in the United States, has recently been more strict in their blocking of casino deposits. Their ever tenuous efforts have been only moderately consistent, as online casinos are always working to avoid such complications.

Whether it is from the idea that online casino gambling is a high risk activity or due to the UIGEA, MasterCard has been attempting to inhibit online casino deposits, all the while allowing online horse betting deposits.

"Online casino gambling is no more a risk than going to a bar," said Robert L. of Pittsburgh. "If MasterCard is going to block deposits from my online casino, they may as well block my transactions at the local pub."

The UIGEA is set to be heard in the courts, in Congress, and perhaps repealed entirely. A regulatory bill is being considered, and players may soon see easier access to these gaming centers - despite what restrictive, freedom robbing credit card companies may think. Until then, e-wallets and e-checks are the route to take.

At least there is no adjustable interest rate tied to failed deposits.
