Las Vegas Sands Next In Line For Table Games

Casino News - February 23rd, 2010 - Written By Glen

casinoThe table games in Pennsylvania are moving forward at a Maserati's pace, and the fourth casino within the state has recently jumped on board. Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem has submitted their petition requesting licensure for table games in their gaming center, and they will go to a public hearing in early March.

As with all of the other Pennsylvania Casinos, other than Pennsylvania Online Casinos, aiming to include table games amongst their already diverse list of entertainment options, a public hearing has been set. On Thursday, March 11th, 2010, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will convene to gather evidence, as well as public comment, on the request by Sands Bethworks Gaming, LLC ,the operator of the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem in Northampton County, in order to determine whether or not they are eligible for table games.

In January, Pennsylvania's state legislature ratified table games. All of the state's casinos who would want the games must adhere to the process of the petition and future licensure. Though no casinos have yet to see these table games, it is expected that the earliest casinos who submit their petition will see table games by the onset of summer.

Pennsylvania's casinos have remained strong in revenue growth throughout the past year. This is a sharp contrast to casinos around the nation, as both Las Vegas and Atlantic City, the two casino gambling giants, have seen sharp declines in revenue. Atlantic City has taken the worst hit, possibly due to Pennsylvania's explosive growth.
