Casino News - February 22nd, 2010 - Written By Glen
With the inclusion of table games in state law, Pennsylvania Casinos have had an opportunity to submit applications and receive hearings over adding table games to their gaming floors. Having been signed in to law less than two months ago, many are amazed by the rapid growth of table games.
"I love blackjack, and I can't wait until the folks at the Gaming Control Board approve of the games at Mount Airy," stated Jack B., a resident of Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
Parx Casino is the most recent casino to see a hearing scheduled for their shot at table games. The public hearing has been scheduled for March 10th, in which the casino will aim to receive licensure for their table games.
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs and the Mount Airy Casino Resort have both also pushed forward their applications for the inclusion of table games in their casinos. While the Mohegan Sun meeting had to be rescheduled due to the blizzards, set for February 17th rather than February 11th, it had still moved forward. February 25th is the date of the hearing over Mount Airy Casino's bid for table games.
In each hearing, citizens, community groups, and elected officials all have an opportunity to present oral and written testimony to contribute to the licensure of the casinos. Registration for the hearings is open through the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's website.
