Anti-Gambling Task Force Requests Ability To Raid Casino

Casino News - January 10th, 2010 - Written By Glen

antigamblingLast Wednesday, the anti-gambling task force of Alabama had attempted to raid one of the larger casino's in the state. The plan had almost become reality, but local officials had worked to prevent the raid, and had done so quite successfully. By seeking a judge's counsel in the dead of night, officials had prevented the raid, over a hundred agents strong, from performing their sting. On Thursday, the task force had asked a court to allow the raid.

The raid would have targeted the newest casino to hit the Dothan area. The Country Crossing has been accused of ignoring state regulations regarding the operation of a bingo hall. With a warrant that would expire Sunday, time was essential for the harrowed state agents.

Though the task force had their warrant, a higher judge had impeded the raid. The task force had sought a hearing, but Circuit Judge P.B. McLauchlin had declined the hearing that would take place before the warrant expired.

"This is not China or Russia where dictators declare something illegal one day and close the book on the case, and we will not be bullied or strong armed by anyone, up to and including the governor," said Country Crossing spokesman, Jay Walker, in a fit of patriotic endurance.

Court hearings had taken place to determine the legality of Bingo machines in the state, and had crafted a checklist to where each casino must adhere should they wish to operate legally. The task force asserts that the machines in the Country Crossing Casino violate these terms and conditions. Country Crossing claims that their gambling machines operate the same as the others around Alabama.

Despite any trouble that may befall these casinos, Alabama Online Casinos are still available for all forms of casino game.
