Casino News - January 2nd, 2010 - Written By Glen
The year of 2009 had watched as the federal government had cracked down on online gambling, as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was due to come to full effect. With the persistent persecution against online casinos, several of those gaming centers previously open to American players had pulled from the market. One of the largest online casinos, Golden Casino, had pulled from the United States market near the end of the year.
Though the deadline on the UIGEA had been pushed back, Golden Casino was ostensibly forced into closing their doors to USA players. New management had reportedly taken over, which ultimately made the unfortunate decision. Though new players may not sign up from the United States, existing players may still participate in the games.
"Frankly, I was surprised," said online casino gamer Elizabeth Weslo, "I had intended on opening an account with Golden Casino, as they have one of the best reputations in the industry, but I was unable to do so - unfortunate indeed."
Golden Casino has undergone major changes since pulling from the American market, including less news letters and an inability to deposit from the North American country. While existing players can still operate through the cashier, no new players will be entitled to join this most impressive of casinos.
Unfortunately, Golden Casino, like Microgaming casinos, may not may a return to the United States market until the legal issues change. Though there are still many incredible 2010 casinos available, such as Grande Vegas Casino, many players will not be able to experience the quality that Golden Casino had to offer.
