Casino News - January 10th, 2010 - Written By Glen
According to the Associated Press, two downtown casinos were robbed within several hours of each other. The Circus Casino Reno and the Silver Legacy Casino were robbed on late Friday and early Saturday, respectively.
The Circus Casino was robbed at roughly 11 PM on Friday. A man had approached the money cage, wielding a gun and demanding hundred dollar bills. After the clerk had turned over the money, the suspect had snatched the cash and fled the scene. A getaway car had been spotted. The amount taken in the heist has yet to be disclosed. No injuries were reported.
Hours later, between 4 and 5 AM, the Silver Legacy was met with a similar heist. Using the same modus operandi, the robber had entered the casino, approached the main money cage, demanded the funds, then fled the scene.
No arrests have been made, and it has yet to be determined whether the two incidents were connected.
The Circus Casino released information on the suspect, who was described as roughly in his 40's, between 5'8 and 6'0, with a shaven head. The vehicle was described as a light colored Pontiac Grand Prix, sporting California license plates.
Though currently unregulated in the United States, Legal Online Casinos remain much safer than land based entities.
