Funny guy Conan O'Brien has gone back to his roots and become, once again, the funny man we have all grown to love. Over the past several months, there is not a talk show you could watch, or a magazine you could read, that did not cover the drama surrounding The Tonight Show. Jay Leno, who has been the face of the The Tonight Show for the past several years, took his show to prime time some months ago, leaving the late night spot to be filled by funny man Conan O'Brien.
Ratings had always a cause for concern for both the Jay Leno Show and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien ever since the beginning. After less than a year, deals were broken and Jay Leno is set to return to his original late night spot as host once again of The Tonight Show.
Since all the changes have been finalized and Conan is almost free of the network, we have seen Conan in a new comedic light that is sure to be missed. His most recent hijinx have been a sharp relief from his standard antics, as he has been acting as a man with nothing to lose - standing up to bosses and performing outrageous activities.
Conan gladly walked away with a large cash payout and a lot of free time on his hands. America is waiting on pins and needles to find out what Conan will do next. Some seem to think he will refer back to what inspired him to host late night comedy in the first place, edgy comedy targeted towards a younger crowd. Most of Conan's Late Night fans would like to see him once again in the spot light, delivering material far from what he has been delivering on The Tonight Show for the past seven months.
Conan ended one of his last shows stating, "Every comedian dreams of hosting the 'Tonight Show' and, for seven months, I got to. I did it my way, with people I love, and I do not regret a second."
Fans are already wondering when we will once again get to witness late night comedy at its best, from one of the most entertaining talk show hosts around. Even online sportsbooks, such as Bookmaker, are offering entertainment betting lines on some possible career moves we will see from Conan O'Brien.
