Gambling News - January 27th, 2010 - Written By Bryan
The upcoming release of the new iPad, has sparked conversation, and speculation, as to how it will compare to similar pieces of technology on the market today. Digital entertainment is shifting the way that manufacturers develop, and consumers purchase. The iPad is the latest and appears to be the greatest of the tablet computer movement.
Research over the last year has indicated a dramatic shift in consumer behavior, as it relates to digital entertainment. More and more, consumers are turning to downloads and e-stores to purchase music, movies, books, etc... in digital form, as opposed to buying to buying a physical copy from retailers.
Everything is not yet known about the launch of the new iPad, but devices on the market today are drawing correlations. For example the Amazon Kindle, which is a digital entertainment device that allows users to purchase electronic copies of their favorite books. The Microsoft/HP Slate is very similar in nature to the iPad, as it can serve as an e-reader, as well as perform several other functions that traditional computers perform.
Apple has a firm grasp on the digital music market, but the iPad will be an attempt to re-energize the slow decline in sales of the company in products overall. The device will feature similar applications to the current iTouch available, but will earmark a larger screen, plus additional applications.
The digital entertainment market increases in popularity each year, and the "sales war" to take place in 2010 has caught the attention of oddsmakers. The upcoming competition has prompted Online Sportsbooks, such as Bookmaker, to carry odds on the 'Best Selling Tablet of 2010.' In the running are several of the top contenders including those that have already established themselves, like the Amazon Kindle.
