NFL News - January 28th, 2010 - Written by John Ritter
St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson was commended during the 2009 NFL Season for refraining to complain about the team's status, or requesting a trade. Perhaps we now know how he vented his frustration.
A police document obtained by TMZ has implicated the St. Louis running back in the assault of his girlfriend, which has apparently happened on several occasions.
The specific incident, which happened last March, was reported by Surpiya Harris and allegedly accuses the NFL star of pushing her repeatedly to the ground and throwing her into a door.
The catch is she was nine months pregnant at the time.
In the report, Harris said she was bleeding heavily from cuts from the door, and her nephew had to step in to stop the fight. She gave birth to the baby boy soon after without complications, but Harris left Jackson four months later because the violence continued to spring up.
Jackson hasn't exactly had it easy in the office recently. The Rams only won two games this past season, and have the top pick in the upcoming draft because they finished dead last in the NFL Season.
Jackson was the league's second-leading rusher with 1,416 yards, and the Rams only bright spot in a bleak season. He made the Pro Bowl, but elected to skip it due to injury.
The couple is currently going through litigation over child custody and payments.
