The World Series Of Poker's Main Event, the $10,000 dollar No Limit Texas Hold 'em World Championship, attracts more players from around the world than any other tournament, not withstanding online tournaments. The hefty buy-in is too much for many people, but online poker rooms have, since the winning of the championship by online qualifier Chris Moneymaker, been offering satellites into the Main Event, sometimes for as little as a dime.
Absolute Poker has started their satellites for the year, and the events are in full swing. One player has already won their seat to the 2010 WSOP Main Event, and many more are to come. With steps tournaments, satellites to the main satellites, and even several tournaments with 25 or more guaranteed prize packages, many players will have their shot at entering the 2010 WSOP Main Event.
The primary way through which players will be winning their seat is the Super Satellites. These will cost $500+30 to enter, and will let players qualify directly for their World Series of Poker Main Event $12,000 dollar prize package. Alternative methods include their ten step program, which only costs a dime to enter, daily qualifiers with $10 dollar buy ins, and the 25 and 50 Guaranteed Seat Satellites.
Absolute Poker is taking it one step further, however. For every player from the CEREUS network that makes it to the World Series of Poker, money will be added to a separate prize pool. This pool will steadily increase in size as more players win, and will ultimately be distributed to those who meet in the Main Event. Furthermore, those who make it to the final table can receive extra money, up to $750,000 dollars, for representing Absolute Poker at the final table.
Whatever the stakes may be, the World Series Main Event is the most significant poker tournament in all the land. Though the cash may be a teaser for some people, it is the coveted bracelet that all of the players are aiming for.
