Poker News - March 1st, 2010 - Written By Glen
Though the World Series of Poker is still months away, some online poker rooms are beginning to gear up for the event. Ultimate Bet, or UB, has already started off the promotions, paying their players big money for their participation.
All online poker rooms offer players an opportunity to win satellites to the main event, and UltimateBet is no different. They are offering players a big opportunity to win free cash, all on top of the satellites for the Main Event. Winning one Main Event seat is one thing, but winning multiple main event seats will pay player's additional tournament dollars, which can be used to enter the massive online tournaments found through UltimateBet.
Sit and Go tournaments and Super Satellites are offering Main Event seats, with some of the best coming from the 25- or 50-seat guarantees. UltimateBet plans on sending many players to the Main Event, and these tournaments will be running until the Main Event will be right around the corner. In this year's series of satellites, however, UltimateBet will credit a player's account with $12,000 dollars in cold, hard cash for each additional seat that had been won.
Furthermore, a special leaderboard will be created for winners of satellites. The top five Main Event seat winners will take home prizes ranging from $750 to $5,000 dollars in tournament money, as well as the additional funds from each seat that had been won.
Additionally, players who make it to the final table can opt to sponsor Ultimate Bet. Sponsorship will pay the player according to which place they take. Taking 9th place will give an additional $75,000 dollars, while first place will give an additional $750,000 dollars on top of their first place winnings.
With the prize pool of the main event constantly pushing the limit, players joining this tournament can expect to see $8 million dollars or more as a first place prize, though hundreds of thousands of dollars await even the lowest rung of winners.
