USA Poker WSOP 2009 WSOP 2009 WSOP Event 3 Omaha Hi Lo Split 8 Or Better
The WSOP event #3 - Omaha Hi-Lo split-8 or better tournament and is a rather popular one at the WSOP. The number of people that enter is pretty high considering that most poker players prefer to play hold em. One of the reasons this tournament does rather well is because this is the first rather cheap event that is open to the public. All of the people that have been waiting all year for the 2009 WSOP to start finally get a chance to put their chips on the table.
As stated, the 2009 WSOP event #3 is the Omaha Hi-Lo split-8 or better tournament and it begins on May 29, 2009 and is scheduled to end on May 31, 2009 if all goes like it is supposed to. Day 1 Recap
The first day of this event is in the books with a record setting number of entrants at 918. The second day is about to start with some great tables to keep up with. Thang Luu is the leader at the end of the first day with a chip count of 73,600 which is good enough to be just over 13k ahead of the next competitor. He must be one hell of a player because he was the winner of this event last year. Another big story so far is some of the big names that have been knocked out already like Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, and Gavin Smith. Two of the notables are Phil Hellmuth at $32,500 and Eric Lindgren at 24,300, and they are sitting at the same table today along with several other tough competitors. There is also another very interesting table going on with Annie Duke, Todd Brunson, and Max Pescatori all sitting at the same table. I wish this were broadcasted live so that we could all watch the second day of action without heading to Vegas.
Day 2 Recap

2009 World Series Of Poker Event 3 Tournament Recap
Event Three has also concluded, leaving Thang Luu the victor. The Vietnamese born Luu is now the owner of two WSOP bracelets, with a total of $464,620 dollars in winnings under his belt from the World Series. Ed Smith and Ming Reslock took second and third, respectively, behind him. Luu held a strong lead all throughout the end of the tournament, carrying winning hands as if they were his fingers. Ed Smith barely stood a chance, being repeatedly knocked around and crippled by Luu, until he mounted a small comeback before finally taking the final plunge. Honorable mention goes to Annie Duke, who walked in 30th place, winning a cash out of $6,000 dollars. Event Three was an Omaha Hi-Lo tournament.
