USA Poker WSOP 2009 WSOP 2009 WSOP Event 4 No Limit Hold 'Em
The 2009 WSOP Event 4 - No Limit Hold ‘Em is scheduled to start Saturday, May 30th, 2009. It is one of the most popular poker games today. The initial buy-in set for this event is $1,000. A separate $1,000 No Limit Hold ‘Em event has also been devised for ladies and seniors that is to follow later in the tournament.
Event 4 of the 2009 WSOP is a No Limit Hold'em Game which is a community card game where each player can use any combination of five of their community cards and their own two hole cards to make a winning hand. It is played using big and small blind bets-which are forced bets by two players. Antes or forced contributions by all players may be used in addition to the blinds from the sixth level onwards. The small blind is placed by a player to the left of the dealer and is usually half the size of the big blind. The big blind placed by the player to the left of the small blind is equal to the minimum bet. In this event, the blind/ante structure progressively goes up with additional levels. This is a no limit game-meaning players can wager any amount over the minimum raise to the extent of the chips he has on the table.

Day 1A Recap
The action was fierce today in Event 4 of the 2009 WSOP. We started with 3,000 players, and now we are left with only 376 entrants. That is a huge drop rate, and it happened as predicted. All the bigger names earlier went down, but we still have the second part of Day 1 to go. Day 1B will start Sunday at 12PM, Pacific Time, or 4PM EST. As Day 1A ends with no official chip count. We will have to wait for tomorrow to end before we can get anything official. Day 1B has already hit the cap of 3,000 players, and registration is now closed. Stay tuned as action continues tomorrow.
Day 1B Recap
Event Four is running strong, with over 700 entrants out of 6,000 remaining. One time Bracelet winner, Jeremiah Degreef, is currently in the lead with 132,200 chips. Tailing Degreef is Jonathan Tamayo with 107,500 chips. Tamayo has not won a bracelet, so the stakes are high for him and he has been playing strong to maintain a position. Players are being regularly eliminated, and the numbers should thin into the low hundreds. A lot of new names are debuting in this event, mostly amateurs looking to make a name for them self in the poker world. The Champions Invitation has drawn twenty of the biggest names away, disallowing them to take part in the fourth event while the Invitational is taking place.
Day 2 - In Progress
The beginning of the next day of the World Series of Poker has already had some major chip changes and exciting turns. Players are being knocked out left and right by Nikolay Evdakov in Event 4, a No-Limit Hold'Em tournament. Also in this tournament, Rob Perlman has taken a pearl from the shells of his opponents, effectively doubling his chip count up to $53,000. Check back later for more updates. This tournament should be running late into the night.
Day 3 - Start of Day
The fourth event, a No-Limit hold'em tournament, is entering its third and final day. Out of six thousand entrants, only fifty remain. Eliminations have been dolled out almost as often as hands are, Danny Fuhs and Robert Comegys are dominating the field, both with over a million chips. They have such a foothold because barely a dozen players even have over 500,000 chips. Such a strong weight can easily force out those with small numbers in a matter of hands. The relatively low buy-in of $1000 dollars will give the leader a huge chunk of the $5.5 million prize pool. Stakes are big in this tournament, and cash and a bracelet await he or she who will triumph over the rest.
Day 3 Recap
Nine participants are all that remain of the six thousand that entered the No-Limit Hold'Em tournament that marked the fourth event of the World Series Of Poker. The tournament was scheduled to end yesterday, the 2nd, but circumstances prohibited a timely end. Dan Heimiller leads the board at just over four million chips. Danny Fuhs is in the weakest position, standing at 965,000 chips. The tournament continues with the final nine today at 2pm Pacific time. Full coverage will be provided by ESPN 360, so make sure to tune in for the live action.
2009 World Series of Poker Event 4 Recap
The fourth event has finally come to an end. Out of over 6,000 entrants, Steve Sung managed to take victory. Over 90% of the entrants were knocked out on the first day, leaving many others with decimated chip stacks. Panayote Vilandos took second, walking home with $473,283, compared to Sung's $771,106. The money is only half the glory, however, as Sung is the one who gets to keep the bracelet. This is a particularly proud moment for Sung, as this bracelet is his first - but probably not his last.
