USA Poker WSOP 2009 WSOP 2009 WSOP Event 45 World Championship Pot-Limit Hold 'Em
Event 45 at the World Series of Poker 2009 will be the World Championship Pot-Limit Hold’em. With a relatively high buy-in of $10,000, this event is not expected to draw a large crowd, but will definitely be action packed. The event itself has been around for sometime, so most players have had time to familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations associated. In 2008, this tournament had a little over 350 entrants and Nenad Medic the reigning champion went home with a whopping $794,112 in prizes. There should be a lot of attention focused on this event, because of the large amount of money involved.
The 40th Annual WSOP 2009 World Championship Pot-Limit Hold’em event 45 is highly anticipated. With a slightly higher buy-in of $10,000, this tournament might not attract large crowds. The event will begin on the 23rd of June at 12 pm. The play is divided into 27 levels with each level lasting for 60 minutes. After every second level there will be a 20 minute break, and on Day 1, there will be a 90 minute dinner break after the 6th Level. The final table will commence at 2 pm on the 25th of June.

Day 1 Recap
To be crowned the World Champion of Pot-Limit Hold'Em is no easy feat, as the remaining 85 players will all tell you. Michiel Brummelhuis is currently on top, hoarding 330,200 chips. Toto Leonidas may not hail from Sparta, but his 241,100 chips are his backing, giving him some strength amongst the other participants. Kirill Gerasimov trails with 213,200, and he hopes to rise back above the leaders. Vanessa Rousso brings to the table her good looks, but as easy on the eyes as she is, her charm has not swayed the male players away from their chip counts. She sits at 80,000 chips. Almost.
Day 2 Recap
Event 45's Second day ended with 14 entrants left. John Kabbaj leads with a dominating chip count. His two million chips are more than double what his closest competitor, JC Alvarado, holds. Billy Kopp sits behind them at 772,000. This is the World Championship for Pot-Limit Hold 'em variant. The third day will reduce 14 to 1, Honestly, if John Kabbaj gets knocked down, it would be a wonder how he got that high to begin with. Still, luck is a major factory. Mis-reading a hand could put Kabbaj all in just to fall.
