USA Poker WSOP 2011 WSOP 2011 WSOP Event 32 No Limit Hold Em
We have once again come to a no limit Texas Hold 'em tournament, which is event 32. The 32nd event in the 2010 World Series of poker is a traditional no limit Hold' em tournament. As the most common format of tournament, this is no strange event. These tournaments generally carry larger prize pools, despite carrying a low buy-in, due to the higher number of entrants that are attracted by this common format and the fairly low buy-in. We expect this to be a tournament with at least 1,000 entrants, bringing in a fairly large purse - especially for the winner.
With a buy-in of only $1,500, this tournament should prove to be fairly large. We are expecting at least 1,000 players in the event. If you are going to enter event 32 and take a shot at the bracelet, you will have to do so before June 18th, the start date, at 12 PM. It will be ending on June 20th, provided everything works out as it should. If you want to enter the tournament, pre-registration is already open and registration will run until the date of the event.
Tournament Updates
(New Updates Posted Daily During Event)
Day 1 Update - The next $1,500 no limit hold 'em tournament marks the 32nd event, and this tournament's first day is now on the books. Of the field of 2,828, only 362 players remain going into the next day. Adam Lippert has ended the day in first place, with 139,000 chips in his pile. Rodrigo Garrido is in second, as he owns 129,000 chips. Chino Rheem is just behind them in third, with 110,000 chips in his stack. Eric Cloutier, Josh Brikis, and Justin Young are amongst the hopefuls still in play. Kara Scott, Kathy Liebert, Phil Laak, Jason Mercier Scotty Nguyen and Joe Cada have all been eliminated. The prize pool has been built to $3,817,800, and first place will earn $668,276 as well as the WSOP bracelet for their efforts.
Day 2 Update - While 362 players returned for the second day of this hold 'em tournament, only 35 players are still in the mix. All of the remaining players will earn over $15,000 for their placing, but a top prize of $688,276 and a gold bracelet will go to the lead player. TJ Cloutier, Brett Jungblut, Justin Young, Josh Brikis and Adam Lippert have all been eliminated, and one female is still in the running for the bracelet. Jamie Kerstetter could become the first female to win WSOP gold this year, though her stack of 114,000 has a lot of work to do against blinds of 5000/10000 and an ante of 1,000. Dror Michaelo is the current chip lead, with 876,000 chips to his name. Adam Geyer is behind him with 664,000. The third day of this event is supposed to bring the field down to 1, but it is possible that a fourth day will be forced.
Day 3 Update - Kirk Caldwell has powered to the top of the 32nd event in the 2011 WSOP. HE has managed to rise to the top of the pile, beating out 2,827 other players. Caldwell has won $668,276 in winnings after investing a mere $1,500 as a buy-in. In under five hours of play, the 35 people in the third day had been dropped to the final table. Caldwell, of Canada, was with two other Canadians at the final table - Marc McLaughlin and Gabriel Houle - was well as Corbin White, Dror Michaelo, Randy Haddox, Rodrigo Portaleoni, Kyle Cartwright and Martin Stevens. When it came to the top four, play slowed drastically, with Kirk Caldwell and Mark McLaughlin changing the lead for most of the four handed play. Caldwell took a huge hit off of McLaughlin during three handed play, which seemed to give him what he needed to win. When it came to heads up, one hand brought Caldwell to the button, who opened to 300,000. Ben White, the player who made it to heads up, raised the pot to 900,000. Caldwell shoved and White made the call. Caldwell flipped an 8c-8h, while White showed an Ac-Qs. A flop of 7h-9d-9h dropped, with a Jc on the turn. An 8s dropped on the river, giving Caldwell his WSOP bracelet. White earned $414,918 for his success.
