No Limit Hold'em returns to event 48. This is one of the few tournaments in which you can practice prior to the No Limit Hold 'em championship, the main event. As time draws nearer to the main event, these tournaments are becoming slightly more important. Players who enter the tournament will not have to pay too much, but the winnings could be enormous.
The World Series of Poker's next Hold 'em event is starting at 12 PM on June 28th. Those who enter this tournament will have to enter with a price of $1,500 to play. If you decide to enter this tournament, know that it will last three days time. It will end June 30th, provided nothing extraneous occurs.

Day 1 Update - Out of the 2,713 entrants, only 370 remain going into the second day. The field had attracted some big name players, with a number of eliminations that have come against some of the bigger names in poker. Phil Hellmuth is out of the race, as is Chris Moneymaker, Tom Dwan, Carlos Mortensen, Liv Boeree and Justin Bonomo. Some notable players have made it into the second day, with Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Sorel Mizzi, David Singer, Soi Nguyen and Leo Wolpert all moving on. Alex Bolotin is in first place, with 129,800. Sebastian Winkler and Jonathan Little are both still in second and third place. The first place person will earn $650,223 for their efforts, with $404,235 going to the second place player. With many players holding more than 50,000 chips, players all have a fair shot at winning.
Day 2 Update - The second day of the 48th event has brought players down to the 30. The total of 370 players had narrowed down to only 30, and the chip leader in the third day is Sebastian Winkler. He holds an astounding 1,156,000 chips , with the second place player holding 1,062,000. This second place player is none other than Matt Stout, and he is hoping to maintain his lead and beat back the first place winner and maintain his lead. Yevgeniy Timoshenko is one of the few notable players remaining in the game, with David Singer, Jonathan Little, Sorel Mizzi and James Mackey all eliminated in the day. Timoshenko came close to elimination before the end of the second day, but he managed to stay alive. The first place prize of $650,223 is waiting along side the bracelet.
Day 3 Update - With the trend of forced fourth days, the first year of the ten level rule may be the last. The 48th event of the 2011 WSOP has also come down to a fourth day, with four players still remaining and no chip stack over 4 million. The chip leader is Athanasios Polychronopoulos, who holds 3,680,000 and a mind bogglingly confusing name, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, who holds 3,460,000, Peter Ippolito, who holds 2,835,000 chips, and Simon Charette, who holds 2,245,000 chips and the least confusing name of the bunch. The top four players are competing for $206,348 as a minimum, with a top prize of $650,223. Matt Stout was eliminated early on in the game, though eliminations began fairly quickly throughout this forced fourth day.
Day 4 Update - The 48th event has ended in favor of Athanasios Polychonopoulos, and he has won a stack of cash that is as large as his surname is confusing. He and his band of taxonomically difficult opponents had all been brought back for a fourth day, which was also the number of players remaining in the field. Simon Charette of Canada won $404,235, while Peter Ippolito took home $286,118 for his efforts. Yevginy Timoshenko earned $206,348 for coming in fourth place. Each player may have earned a sizable amount of money, but only Polychronopoulos won his WSOP gold.
