2011 World Series Of Poker Event 51

Less than ten events remain, and most of the final events are fairly different from the standard Hold 'em tournament. The 51st event is a Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better tournament, providing players with a very specialized tournament. Since two people can win every hand, this tournament is one of the more exciting events. Players will see a fairly small buy-in, which should help players get involved in the tournament with the utmost ease.

A total buy-in of $1,500 is required for players to participate. Those who decide to enter this tournament can expect a few hundred participants, so the tournament will not likely be a big one. If you join up, the start date will be June 30th. The tournament will run from June 30th at 12 PM to July 2nd. Professionals and recreational players alike are likely to participate in the event.

Day 1 Update - William Speir is in the running for the bracelet in the 51st event, with Dave Sands right behind him. Speir holds 115,300 chips, with Dave Sands holding 94,000 chips. Fabrizio Gonzalez is in third, holding 90,300 chips to his stack. Several big names are still in the running, with Tommy Chen, Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel, Barry Shulman, Joe Hachem and Mitch Schock are all still in the field of 27 players. With a minimum stack of 10,000, eliminations are likely to start early on in the day. The first day of the event saw the elimination of Phil Laak, Tom Dwan, Mike Matusow, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and many others. With a prize pool of $1,277,100 million, this tournament will pay $268,235 to the bracelet winner.

Final Update - David Singontiko has earned his first bracelet, as well as $268,235 for his efforts, in the 51st event of the 2011 World Series of Poker. This is the first event he has ever entered, and he waded through a field of 946 in order to take the bracelet. The final hand was ten players who were all working toward earning a solid amount of money for their efforts. David "Doc" Sands went home early, while Jeffrey Gibralter had been a tough opponent throughout the day. Michael Yee was Singontiko's adversary in heads up play, and he failed to succeed going into play. Heads up play seriously lasted only two hands, with Yee being beaten into oblivion fairly quickly. Jeffrey Gibralter was eliminated just five minutes prior to Yee's.
