Mixed hold 'em is fun for most players, and the 52nd event in the 2011 WSOP is a limit/no limit hold 'em event. Players who participate will be able to play two different types of poker in one tournament, all fight toward one prestigious bracelet. A small buy-in is required, and many players should end up coming out to this event. The prize pool will definitely break six figures, while it may even break seven figures with enough attention from prospective players.

Having looked at the 2011 WSOP Schedule, we found that players are joining in this event with a buy-in of only $2,500. Players who join up will be joining on June 30th. The start time is 5 PM, so players do not have to wake up very early in order to participate in this event. Expect it to end on July 2nd.

Tournament Updates
(New Updates Posted Daily During Event)

Day 1 Update - The Mixed Hold 'em event of limit and no-limit has attracted 580 entrants, but only 153 players remain in the event. Some of the eliminations for the first day include Michael Mizrachi, Jennifer Lee, MIke Sexton, Erick Lindgren, Antonio Esfandiari, Hoyt Corkins, John Juanda and Daniel Negreanu. Sadly for Negreanu, who has had some of the worst luck in these tournaments, he was eliminated on one of the last hands of the night. The chip lead went to Nikolay Losev, who holds 114,100 chips. Joseph Cheong held 98,600, with Sergey Rybachenko holding 84,700 to his name. Chris Moorman, Scott Montgomery, Mike Matusow, Sorel Mizzi, Tom Dwan, Eli Elezra, and the Matts Hawrilenko and Affleck are still in the running. A top prize of $303,501 has been established, with each player pulling toward the bracelet.

Final Update - In the 52nd event, 153 players survived past the first day. The 580 entrants had already been slimmed down, and the number would slim even further going into the third day. Eliminations came quickly, with Joseph Cheong being slaughtered after holding one of the highest chip stacks. Mike Matusow, Jeffrey Lisandro, Erica Schoenberg, Maria Ho, Jimmy Fricke, and Michael Binge had also been eliminated on the second day. The final table was solidified for the third day of play, with Matt Hawrilenko and Brandon Meyers as notables in the event. Brandon Meyers held 1,200,000 chips going into the final table, with Noah Boeken in second place with 599,000 chips. Matt Matros was in third, with Nikolay Losev in fourth. Adam Sanders was the short stack with 179,000 chips. Play lasted a little over eight hours, but in the end only one would walk away a winner - Matt Matros. Matt Hawrilenko managed to secure third, with Brandon Meyers holding the fourth place eliination. Jonathan Lane was the runner up. Matros earned $303,501 for his efforts.
