The AFC Conference has become the big brother over the NFC for sometime now and our 2009 AFC Schedule Preview shows some great match ups for the upcoming season. Most critics feel this years Superbowl champion will come from the AFC once again. Who would argue that, with phenom Tom Brady returning to the New England Patriots and Ben Roethlisberger trying to repeat as champion. The AFC North has become home to 4 of the top 5 teams in the NFL, starting with the Pittsburgh Steelers, The New England Patriots, the Indianapolis Colts and, the Tennessee Titans. All for play good defense and all for put pressure on the defense with offenses that can score at a moments notice. Look for this years Superbowl Champion to come out of the AFC this year again.
2009 AFC Schedule Key Match Ups
September 10th, 2009 - Titans @ Steelers - The first game of the 2009 NFL season begins with an AFC power house show down. Both teams want to win this game as it is the first of the season. A loss however should not impact either team reaching the playoffs.
September 13th, 2009 - Jaguars @ Colts - The jaguars have played well against the Colts in the past giving them problems on defense. Look for the Jaguars to pull off an upset against the Colts once again.
September 20th, 2009 - Ravens @ Chargers - The Ravens defense visits the west coast to try and stop the high power offensive attack of LT and the Chargers. This game will give us a good validation of how well the Ravens and Chargers will end the season.
October 4th, 2009 - Ravens @ Patriots - The Ravens go back on the road against another high powered offense, stopping Tom Brady and Randy Moss pose a strong challenge to the Ravens D.
October 12th, 2009 - Jets @ Dolphins - Jets and Dolphins always play well against each other and have been the biggest rival in the AFC East division.
November 15th, 2009 - Patriots @ Colts - Week 10 brings us one of the best games all year, as the two best quarterbacks in the NFL the last 5 years square off in an AFC battle for the ages.
November 29th, 2009 - Steelers @ Ravens - The Steelers and Ravens always play each other twice a year, lucky for us football fans.
December 20th, 2009 - Patriots @ Bills - The leagues top two wide receivers match up against each other for the second time this year, this time Terrell Owens gets home field advantage against Randy Moss.
December 25th, 2009 - Chargers @ Titans - The Chargers take a trip away from the coast and into Tennessee with a chance at stealing a game away from the defensive minded Titans.
January 3rd, 2010 - Steelers @ Dolphins - The Steelers end the 2009 season in Miami, the Dolphins will likely need to win this game to enter the playoffs for a second year.
