This win propelled Eli Manning and the Giants into one of the elite teams in NFL. As far as the 2009 NFC East Schedule Preview goes, the Philadelphia Eagles look to get back to their old form, of winning division titles, sense Andy Reed became the coach of the Eagles they have made it to 5 NFC Championship games. The Washington Redskins enter the 2009 football season adding high quality players during free agency. At the end of last year they signed free agent DeAngelo Hall, and scooped up big time nose tackle Albert Haynesworth to a long term deal. These acquisitions should improve the defense. The Dallas Cowboys come into the 2009 NFL Season with less hype and expectations than ever before. After releasing all-star wide out Terrell Owens, most critics have labeled the Cowboys as the worst team in the division. This might be a good sign for the Cowboys, who could end up fling under the radar into the playoffs without Owens.
In 2008 the NFC East belonged to the Giants once again, finishing the year with a 12-4 record and earning a playoff berth. However it was no story book ending as they lost to rival Philadelphia Eagles at home in their first playoff game. The Washington Redskins made no improvement with new head coach Jim Zorn in 2008 finishing the year with an 8-8 record and last in the division. The Redskins look to improve in Zorn's second year coaching the team, but the redskins will need a strong effort in such a talented division. The Cowboys ended the 2008 season with their worst lost all year. Entering week 17 with a chance to make it to the playoffs the Cowboys got demolished against rival Philadelphia Eagles, advancing the Eagles to the Playoffs. Haynes worth will improve the defense but it's the offense Washington needs to work on, finishing 28th in the league in total points per game at 16.6. The Redskins will start the season with Jason Campbell at quarterback, He will need to get better, averaging 189 passing yards a game will not get the Redskins to the playoffs. the Redskins finish the year 8-8 again.
2009 Philadelphia Eagles NFC East Schedule Preview The Eagles crept into the playoffs last year wining the last game of the season against the cowboys in a must win situation. The eagles just resigned Donovan McNabb to an extension, giving them stability again behind the center. However the Eagles will be without all-star running back Brian Westbrook for the first four games of the season. Westbrook has been the key to such a successful offense in the past years. The Eagles success in 2009 all depends on how well they fare those first 4 games. The Eagles just miss the playoffs, in 2009 with a 9-7 record.
2009 New York Giants NFC East Schedule PreviewThe Giants look the same this year as they have in the past, minus one exception at wide receiver. Plaxico Burress who has become one of Eli Manning's favorite targets is no longer with the team. Eli will have to favor most passes to rookie first round pick Hakeem Nicks early and often. The consistent running game and defense of the Giants get them back into the playoffs once again. Finishing the year with an 11-5 record.
2009 Dallas Cowboys NFC East Schedule PreviewOwner Jerry Jones of the cowboys hopes the opening of the new Dallas Stadium will help the team reach the playoffs. The scale of the New stadium is Intimidating alone but the defense of the cowboys will have to do some intimidating on the field themselves to reach the playoffs in 2009. The cowboys allowed 22.8 points a game an amazing number sense they finished 8th in total yards allowed per game and 5th in passing yards allowed per game. With the release of wide out Terrell Owens look for Tony Romo to have his best year yet. Cowboys win the division in their new stadium with a record of 12-4.
