The NFC North has fallen into the lower tear of the NFL but hopefully that will change in the 2009 NFC North Schedule Preview. Last year the Detroit Lions didn't win a single game posting an 0-16 record. The Division leading Minnesota Viking just got into the playoffs, with a sub par 10-6 record. The Green Bay Packers who were the preseason favorite to win the division only claimed 6 wins in 2008. With starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers entering his second season as the Packers quarter back, expect Green Bay to pull of two or three more wins. The Chicago Bears had some success in 2008 winning 9 games all together, but with new quarterback Jay Cutler the Bears just might get back into the playoffs.
2009 Minnesota Vikings NFC North Schedule PreviewThe Minnesota Vikings won the NFC North division in 2008 and hope to do the same thing again in the 2009 NFL Season. With the addition of Brett Favre, the Vikings will have multiple options for moving the ball. Just like in 2008, the 2009 Minnesota Vikings will rely on a heavy douse of Adrian Peterson to get the ball in the end zone, but now they will have the ability to spread the ball to receivers like rookie Percy Harvin. The Minnesota Vikings finish at 10-6 for the second straight year.
2009 Green Bay Packers NFC North Schedule PreviewThe Packers finished a horrible 2008 season with a 6-10 record in the first year without Brett Favre under center. Aaron Rodgers will have to improve his quarterback play and pass efficiency if the Packers hope to improve on their record this year. Defense is another problem for the Packers as they lost most games by single digits. The Pack will need a better performance all around if they want to make the playoffs. Packers end the season at .500 with an 8-8 record.
2009 Chicago Bears NFC North Schedule PreviewThe Bears made a huge of season acquisition trading for Denver Broncos star quarterback Jay Cutler, putting an end to all quarterback controversy in Chicago. Jay Cutler looks to improve a Bears offense that finished 26th in total yards per game last year. Cutler can't help the defense though, and the defense needs help giving up 241 pass yards a game and 334 total yards per game in 2008. If the Bears want to see the Superbowl again, they will have to get back to basics on the defensive side of the ball, Bears finish 8-8.
2009 Detroit Lions NFC North Schedule PreviewThe Lions know they can only improve from last years record of 0-16. Good signs for new quarter back Matt Staford who will become a hero in Detroit by just winning a few games. The Lions do have some hopes for a bright future with QB Matt Stafford WR Calvin Johnson and RB Kevin Smith, though they probably wont shine in 2009. The Detroit Lions fight threw another tough season finishing with a record of 6-10.
