Last year, the 2009 NFC West produced the 2008 NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals, a trend that Arizona hopes to keep alive. The Cardinals did not have the best regular season last year posting a record of 9-7 overall but, they did go 6-2 at home. The cardinals kept Wide Out Anquan Boldin even after he demanded to get traded or get paid more, a situation that might work out for both parties in the long run. The NFC west didn't win too many games last year as The St. Louis Rams only won 2 game s finishing the season 2-14, and the Seattle Seahawks only won 4 games for a record of 4-12. Both teams look to improve on their records, The Seahawks signed wide out T.J. Houshmandzadeh to help Matt Hasselbeck. The rams acquired new Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo to bring more tenacity to a team that is claimed to be weak. The San Francisco 49ers start the 2009 NFL Season with a new head coach as well in Mike Singletary, who took over as head coach during the middle half of the season finishing with a record of 5-4. The 49ers finished the 2008 season with an overall record of 7-9.

The cardinals passed for an average of 292.1 yards a game last year second only behind Drew Brees and the New Orleans saints. Cardinals win the division once again with a record of 10-6.
2009 San Francisco 49ers NFC West Schedule PreviewThe 49ers hope new head coach Mike Singletary, can bring to the team some of that aggression he played so well with while he was a LB for the Chicago Bears. This task might prove to be more difficult then originally intended as the 49ers are filled with a roster of high paid pre Madonnas. The 49ers will be forced to the run the ball lots this year as no quarterback has been named the starter yet. First round draft pick Michael Crabtree might not have the rookie year, stats wise that he intends to have. The 49ers finish with one more win than last year at 8-8.
2009 Seattle Seahawks NFC West Schedule PreviewThe Seattle Seahawks were one of the teams that made moves during free agency signing by acquiring all-star wide out T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Houshmandzadeh should have a break out year, in the last two seasons he has caught over 200 passes. Now Houshmandzadeh is with out ball hog Chad Ocho-Cinco on his team, a situation that could pay diva dens. Matt Hassellbeck is happy to Houshmandzadeh on his team, T.J. is that go to guy Matt has never had in the past. The Sea Hawks just miss the playoffs by a tie breaker with a record of 10-6.
2009 St. Louis Rams NFC West Schedule PreviewThe St. Louis Rams placed dead last in an already terrible NFC West division last year. New head coach Steve Spagnuolo might end up with the same fate as last year. Spagnuolo does have some talent still left on the Rams roster in quarterback Marc Bulger and tail back Steven Jackson. Still the Rams have lots of work to do. Look for the Rams to finish just a bit better than last year at a record of 5-11.
