Casino News - October 25th, 2009 - Written by Glen
Gambling expansion seems to be a highpoint in the state of Pennsylvania right now, as casinos and even poker rooms are beginning to spring up all over the Keystone State. On October 21st, the Pennsylvania Gaming control board renewed the license held by Harrah's to operate Chester Slots Casino, granting Chester Downs and Marina, LLC Category 1 slot machine privileges.
After careful deliberation, the board decided that Harrah's Chester had met the requirements and surpassed the obligatory qualifications required to renew a slot operator's license. Every year these licenses must be renewed, as per the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. The board had voted unanimously in favor of renewing the license.
A public hearing is always held prior to the board's vote, with the purpose of documenting evidence and testimonies to build a record that will aid the board in making their decision. This first step took place in the middle of September. The operator was then questioned on any possible outstanding issues, at which time a public vote would be cast. The licensing was approved, and the slots will continue to operate.
By renewing their license, Harrah's has once again proven their honesty, integrity, and commitment to fair gaming. Their compliance with local laws, rules, and regulations was also to the peak of performance, showing us once more why Harrah's is the penultimate casino experience. Like any of the USA Friendly Casinos, a Harrah's slot room is no second rate gambling venture.
