America's hit reality show, The Amazing Race, brought on some tough and moral questions in this weeks episodes. With only five teams remaining, each team must now question not only their own strategies, but the strategies of the opponents as well. Generally at the start of each season, competitors tend to play nice in an attempt to further themselves in the competition, but as the game goes on, each team realizes they are against each other, and making friends, can land you just as many enemies during the game. This race around the world leads to not only tiresome physical challenges, but mental challenges as well. Challenges that can sometimes be more damaging than loosing a physical challenge.
Teaming up with other players from the start, can be a game well played, that is until the tables turn further down the road. Screwing another team and or friends that you have made along the way, could very well cost you the game, or put you one step ahead. Working with another team is a good strategy, as long as is it continues to benefit you, but at some point or another, you must think about the end goal of a cash prize of $1 million. The competition is definitely heating up and we can only expect that the worst is yet to come. After all, this is a race, and dragging other teams along the way will only decrease their chances of pulling ahead.
With five teams still remaining, Sam & Dan, Flight Time & Big and Easy, Brian & Ericka, Meghan & Cheyne, and Zen & Justin, it may just be time to let the team work speak for itself. Cheyne and Meghan made their first move by stealing the taxi of another team they agreed to work with. Meghan was displeased with the behavior, to say the least, but it will eventually help her to understand the meaning behind the words race and competition. While some players, such as Brian, have chosen to take the high moral ground and not participate in ugly behavior, others fight to put themselves one step closer to the finish line. The players that continue to play "dirty" as some may call it, may need to refer back to the statement, " Karma can come back to bite you, so beware".
