Another illegal gambling operation has been busted in Georgia, this time in Atlanta. Though previous busts had been small time, the Atlanta edition has proven to be provocative.
For over a year, authorities have been examining what was otherwise a legitimate business in Atlanta. Unknown to most customers, an illegal gambling operation had been operating behind the facade. Gambling machines and poker tables had operated within the buildings walls, and it has been suggested that blackjack dealers were also involved.
The bust had involved not only the Atlanta Police, but also the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Internal Revenue Service had taken part in the bust, both as operatives and observers.
For several years, the warehouse operating the front had housed this gambling den. An observer from a nearby loft complex had stated that he had regularly seen cars, usually expensive, parked outside of the warehouse at odd hours of the night.
Access to the miniature casino, which did not feature half as many games, nor remotely as legal, as the best online casinos, was only through invitation or reputation, and served only a small portion of the population. Though unable to participate, many had recognized that something was going on - though no facts were revealed until the investigation culminated in the bust.
Several participants have already been decked with felony gambling charges, but more arrests may soon come. The investigation has yet to come to a halt, and governing bodies may make more arrests in due time. To date, between 14 and 20 people have already been arrested due to this crime. These criminals will have to learn th ehard way that all this could of been avoided, simply by using USA Online Gambling sites, instead of participating in illegal gambling operations.
