Gambling News - November 8th, 2009 - Written by Glen
Just months after the inception of the newly founded Kentucky Lottery, a state senator seeks to once again expand gambling options within the state. As if to follow in suit with Ohio, the general assembly and the voters will voice their opinions on the legalization of video gambling machines within the state.
While the economy is beginning to recover, gambling revenues around the nation are beginning to bounce back. The Kentucky lottery has already shown a positive increase from those who would play, and video gambling machines could augment this new found source of revenue even further. Senator Damon Thayer, a Republican of Georgetown, has filed the legislation for the upcoming 2010 session.
If approved by the voters and the assembly, those areas with horse racing will have the option of adding gaming terminals to their available choices. This will allow players to enjoy slot gaming outside of the best Kentucky online casinos.
The horse racing industry within the state is one that has been ailing in recent times, and the revenue from the machines is to aid this falling industry. State debt will also be helped from this income, which should grant Kentucky some reprieve from their economic hardship.
These gambling machines will be video slot terminals, and will augment the bingo, lottery, and horse racing gambling choices around the state.
